Happy Birthday, Gregory!
Greg is a little boy now! He was excited that I finally put his presents where he could reach them. He'd been wanting to poke holes in the paper where he saw the jungle animals.
I had fun helping Greg open his presents. Maybe he did too. He was pretty good at it. But after each toy he wanted to just play, instead of opening more. He received cute clothes and some super fun toys.
And we found out that Greg likes money! He grabbed it out of my hand and wouldn't let go. Thank you, family, for the generous gifts. He loves all of it and has been very entertained the last two days!
I made a giraffe cake to match Greg's favorite stuffed toy. It was my first time using my decorating kit and Greg didn't seem to notice any of my mistakes. It was brought to my attention that the giraffe doesn't have a neck. But neither does his toy! Maybe Greg likes cows too.
Greg was a little too interested in the candle so we had to hold it away. Nicole and I helped blow it out.
The sweet baby above had never had sugar treats of any kind. (Except for the babysitter issue, but we won't go there...) This was his first piece of cake and he just played with it for awhile. Mush, mush, mush, squeeze, squeeze, squish. I put his hand to his mouth so he could taste it. But after a few mouthfuls he didn't like it anymore. He cried for milk and then just played with his cake while the rest of us ate ours. Grandma Hardy gave him bites of ice cream and he liked that better than the cake.
This is how Greg feels about being messy!
There was cake squished everywhere. That was the point of course, but I didn't know it would make him so upset. Off to the bath we went!
This was more like it. The birthday boy was happy again. It was a fun day for our whole family and we're happy you shared it with us. We love you Gregory! You're a funny little guy!

Your cake looks fantastic! It makes me want to try something like that for Aubrey's birthday.
Maybe he will be an accountant since he seems to like money so much!
Your cake is awesome! You are inspiring me to do better. I have the desire, but the skill is lacking. I must try, try again!
