Ho Ho Ho!

Look who came to visit our little grocery store! Santa was so nice and had a good chat with each of the kids.  Of course he asked them what they want for Christmas:

Jonathan would like his own Nintendo DS (so he doesn't have to borrow his mom's anymore, haha) and a package of silly bands.  I feel a little bad because he had other ideas along the way that I discouraged. For example, he asked me if Santa could bring him a turtle.  Yes, a live turtle.  I kept my cool and pointed out that Santa would know that I wouldn't want him to bring a turtle, so he should ask him for something else.  Am I SO mean?

Zachary didn't ask for much.  Just a Sly Cooper toy AND a Toy Story Lego Set AND a red robe AND some other things. Whew. I guess it's good to give Santa a few options.

Nicole would like a car for her dollhouse. She also explained that her babies will need carseats.

Greg would like... for Santa to open his candy cane. That's all he wanted. And he got it.

This was Greg's first time seeing Santa because he was sick last year. He didn't scream or try to get away. He just sat there and enjoyed his candy cane.

What do you think - Have our kids been naughty or nice?

I had no idea that Christmas could get even better when I had kids. Their excitement is contagious and I love seeing their eyes light up when they walk in and see the Christmas tree. It would be so easy to get overwhelmed and stressed by the Christmas season but I refuse to.  I love it.  I love the meaning behind it and the way it makes me feel.

I hope you will let Christmas be the same for you. Merry Christmas!

So that's what the free Santa looks like! Yet another perk of living in a small town. :)

I need to get out more... I can't believe we missed Santa at Clark's! Oops!! Lan has been asking when he is coming and I was sure it was later in the month. I am impressed with how well your kids did with him. Lan is ok but Ryley I am pretty sure will have nothing to do with him again this year :) If you are mean for coaching your kids than I am too. I totally do that. Even to the point of suggesting they want things that they need that they will be getting anyway ;)

Sharon! Santa will be at the senior center tomorrow! I don't remember the hours for sure (10-1?) but they're doing a bake sale along with it. (I just realized how funny that sounds.) If you didn't get the note from school, call me for the details.

It's great that Clark's still has Santa coming! It was definitely a highlight in my younger days. And agree that kids definitely make Christmas better.
