Our New Bonk Heads

It's funny how you can correct a child many times and he/she still insists on calling something by the wrong name.  Such is the case with our new bunkbeds.  Or as Nicole lovingly calls them, our new "bonk heads."

We inherited these from my sister and the kids LOVE them.  (Thank you!) Nicole claimed the top bunk and this post is mostly about Greg, who moved from his baby crib into the bottom bunk.  Since he was born, Greg has been sleeping in a crib upstairs in the nursery.  Now he has moved downstairs with the big kids!

Greg helped me carry all his sleeping toys downstairs.  He carefully arranged everything on his bed.

Then the kids played and played and played and played on their new bunkbeds.  Nicole has bonked her head on the ceiling enough times that she probably has a right to call them her bonkheads.  A few hours later it was time for bed and -

Greg was all tucked in and ready to sleep.  Notice how he's waving to us.  And how he has way more toys than a child could possibly need for sleep.  But he felt "at home" and that was our goal.  I set up camp outside their room so I could be sure he fell asleep in bed.  Two hours later he did.  Upside down, with his feet on his pillow.  I would have taken a picture but I didn't want to risk waking him up! 

In the morning Greg came upstairs all by himself, as happy as ever. He even managed to get his lion up the stairs with him.  He's definitely a big boy now!
