Bigger Than Last Year

Do you recognize this place?  We were excited to go to Shoshone Falls again this year. It's less than an hour away and we heard that the river is extra full this year from the wet spring. 

And boy is it!  The falls are thunderous and huge. This photo doesn't do it justice.  Look at all the mist rising up.  I had to keep covering my camera so it wouldn't get wet inside. There was mist on all the cars in the parking lot, and the kids didn't want to watch the falls for very long because they were getting soaked.  

The rainbows were amazing to look at, when we were able to keep our eyes open long enough to see them.  Greg kept his face covered the whole time.

Up away from the mist, we were able to spend more time looking at the falls without getting wet. This is a shot downriver. What a view!

And then it was time to play. Nature makes the best playground! The older kids remembered the climbing rocks from last time, and Greg got in on the fun this year. He was slow and steady but kept climbing.

 The kids went up and down at least a dozen times. Every time Greg made it to the top, he needed a ride back down. Then right when Dad set him down at the bottom of the rocks, he would start climbing right back up again.  What a nice dad!  Mom just took lots of pictures.

  Like this one.  No, it wasn't planned.  (I was just slower going up the hill, back to the car.)
