Spring Break for Me!

It's Spring Break! I'm overjoyed. I'm on vacation from sending a kindergartner out the door every morning. Spring break is actually next week, but today and tomorrow are parent teacher conference days, so Jonathan doesn't go to school for TWELVE days. Nice!

Spring itself is less than two weeks away. It doesn't look or feel like it, but I'll trust the calendar. I also just got our garden seeds in the mail. I'm excited!
Here's a great deal for you, if you're interested in trying something new this spring. I've always been one to buy seeds at a grocery store - and there's nothing wrong with that - but I've recently discovered a great shipping company. Last year they supplied all of my best-growing things and I'm hooked. Are you interested?
They have a great sale right now! For example, you can get FIFTY strawberry plants for $9.99. The everbearing kind that produces throughout the summer. (Or you can spend $5 per plant at Walmart if you prefer.) Nearly everything else is on sale too - seeds, flowers, plants, trees, etc. The best deals to look for are buy one get one free. Gurney's ships everything at the right time to plant it in your area. And they have a guarantee so if something dies, they'll send a new one!
(Our strawberry patch, for $10 last spring.)

Here's the biggie - for the next few days (until the 16th), you can get shipping for $1 total with a special code, no minimum purchase. I can give you the code if it's not on the website. Here's where to find the sale: http://www.gurneys.com/.

I do plan to wait a couple months before planting our seeds, but it's okay to be excited. Welcome, spring! Meanwhile I'll enjoy hibernating with our new baby - that's why we wanted to have him in March. Plenty of time to recover before the gardening season! =o)
I dare YOU to grow something new this year. Happy shopping!

WOOHOO!!! I needed that website name. :) I knew you and Mom got some from online but never knew where. So THANKS! Happy Spring Break. :) Ours is in April right after Easter... Enjoy planting! Its definitely easier without a big ol' belly to get around!! Believe me, I've tried both ways. ;)

You little farmer, you! Let me think...50 strawberry plants...I don't think the HOA will allow them to oooze over onto the green area from my yard. Hee hee! Thanks for the link though, I'll check it out.

So how do I get the one dollar shipping? I had just been doing some online searches for a good plant source. My shopping cart already has 200 bucks worth of stuff in it. OOOh are you going to be in trouble when Josh finds out who got me onto the website!

Oh, I sure hope we have a garden spot at our new home. I can always do pots again but it would be so nice to have a big fat garden. If nothing else I will learn tips from yours to use someday. Thanks for the info.
