Playing Around

Jonathan and Zachary have been playing soccer on Saturday mornings. Good times! They play on two different teams because of their ages. That makes it interesting to try to watch both. But it's also been a lot of fun to play around with my new camera's optical zoom feature. I can stand between the two fields and take pictures in both directions. The above picture is of Jonathan (white jersey) without zooming. Note that he's halfway between me and the basketball hoops.

Here he is a little later, playing goalie. This time he's way back by the basketball hoops but my zoom made him look so close! I love it! My favorite part of my new camera is that it reduces vibration, which I'm apparently horrible with. The pictures are turning out SO much better. Look at my posts - maybe you can tell at what point I got the new camera. I WON the camera by the way. It's not a professional model by any means, but it's better than I've had. Anyway, back to soccer.

Here's Zachary, playing on the other field. There aren't even blur lines from the kids running!

Zach's favorite part of soccer is throwing the ball in when it goes out of bounds. This makes him an excellent goalie because he knows that if he can stop the ball, he gets to throw it! This is my FAVORITE picture with my new camera, because #1 - it looks like he's stopping a goal, #2 - he was actually scored on, by his cousin Allison (haha), #3 - it's a fun action shot with no blurs, and #4 I used my super cool zoom and even had the people IN the picture. I'm still learning and playing around with it. Yay for fun cameras and for soccer!
