Do you know about Lelli Kelly shoes? Nicole certainly does. She sings the song all day long.
The one thing I know about Lelli Kelly shoes is that they are obnoxiously CUTE. Beyond obnoxious. And so, so, SO cute. And they have a very clever marketing strategy.
Let's get all the little girls kicking their feet and singing the song. And begging to have Lelli Kelly shoes. So their mothers can go online to see where they can find these adorable shoes.
Oh. They cost THAT much? Um.
I think the lyrics were meant to be, "Lelli Kelly, we can be cruel - Oh yeah!" But Nicole wants them SO bad. Maybe we can combine birthdays and Christmas. And a little money from her piggy bank?
Hold on. These are SHOES we're talking about. Not a doll that she will protect and coddle and never take outside. No, these are shoes - they will be stomping in puddles and running through the grass. And most importantly, in a few months she'll grow out of them!
What's a mother to do? Hmmm...
I'll tell you what this mother is going to do!
We're going to take these perfectly sturdy handed-down shoes
and we're going to get our BLING on!
Paint! Glitter! Flowers! Bows!
Nicole won't care that they don't say Lelli Kelly - she is THRILLED that we're going to make some just for her. (At least for now. We'll see how she feels about it in high school.)
Lelli Kelly, I'm happy that you're making other little girls happy. I'm sure their mothers love them enough to buy them anything. I love my daughter enough NOT to. =o)

Your kids are lucky to have such a great, sensible, wonderful, loving mom. Your shoes will be so much better anyways. I might need a pair myself :).

I have never even heard of these shoes before...must be because I have two boys I guess. They are darling but I am sure you can make some just as cute! I want to see the finished product, and see if you fooled Nicole in the process. :)

The Lelli Kelly song is on Nick Jr. during EVERY commercial break. We watch an hour of educational TV =o) every morning while I clean. That's why I was so baffled by the price. Does Dora the Explorer really approve of $80 shoes?
Oh, ok.
Um, yeah, maybe we'll go without owning a TV a LOT longer than originally planned.
Sheesh! TV is the devil. Can't wait to see how they turn out!
