It's carnival time again! I have been making posters and the boys have been selling raffle tickets. This is the PTO's big fundraiser for the year. Jonathan helped decorate this beauty to donate to the cake walk.
The theme was The 80's. Don't we look rockin'? I got a lot of compliments. Way more than I expected. (And way more than I was comfortable with.) I made some new friends at the carnival. Is that a good thing? I'm not completely sure. The camera angle here didn't catch the full extent of my hair. It was BIG. I think I still have hairspray in my blood stream.
The school halls were decorated for the 80's and the school kids helped out by coloring pictures: Smurfs, GI Joe, Pac-Man, Care Bears, etc. Jonathan won 2nd place in the 2nd grade coloring contest! I love his use of a highlighter for the wow factor.
We played all sorts of games at the carnival. I won't post each of them since I did last year. But the kids loved Bingo. We have a similar kids' game called Zingo that we play every day at home, so they were really into it. I took this picture two moves before - BINGO - Ben won! Out of all the prizes, he chose a fancy princess purse for Nicole. Aw, how sweet. He also won a cake at the cake walk. Lucky.
Greg was too little to play anything last year but he loved the ducks this year. He picked up about ten ducks before he settled on one to get his prize. And yes he got very wet.
Each of the kids played a lot of games and took home a bag full of prizes and treats. My sister-in-law Jill was in charge this year and she did an amazing job. Two of my sisters were here from out of town too so it was extra special. Thanks to everyone who helped and donated!
As much fun as I had at the carnival, it was REALLY nice to wash off the 80's when I got home.

You were ROCKIN! I love your cake...so cute!
You should have pegged your pants too! haha I love the Def Leppard shirt. Where did you get it? My brother Greg still loves them and sees them every time they come in concert. The 80s were the best! Looks like you had fun!
Wow...you are one hot momma! I'm impressed.
Common, is that from the 80's or from the 2010's? You look Fabulous...or I should say, Way Far Out and Way Cool, Dude!!!
Love it!
Cute cake! I wouldn't have minded winning that one. I did see some that I probably would have passed on:) I'm sure the kids had fun making them though.
You really were stylin'! After that night I was tempted to be and 80's rocker for Halloween but I think I will go with something easier:)
Your cake is awesome! I miss the Oakley school carnivals.
