Little Mommy

Nicole was a happy girl on Christmas morning when she opened her "Baby Alive" doll from Mom and Dad.    She had been talking about her for months. "She drinks out of a bottle! And you can even change her diaper!"  (I offered to let Nicole change Josh's diaper, but apparently that's not what she had in mind.) We've had a lot of fun with Baby Alive so far.  Nicole keeps changing the name of her baby. Her most recent name is Flower, so we'll go with that. 

The day we fed Josh for the first time, Nicole decided it was also time for Flower to eat her own special baby food. She even got to sit in the real high chair! 

What a good little mommy!  Flower was happy the whole time. 

Nicole talked to her and made really cute expressions. Babies like that. 

Flower ate all of her pears! 

Then she washed it all down with a nice bottle of water.   

Now comes the "fun" part.  Time to change the baby's diaper!  I hope the next pictures aren't offensive. It's all part of being a mom, and Nicole's expressions are priceless: 

That's exactly how I feel about diapers!  I love this girl. 

I was genuinely proud of how easily Nicole put a fresh new diaper on her baby.  She knew exactly what to do. It's almost like she's watched me change a billion diapers before. 

 Greg had the honor of putting the yucky diaper into the diaper pail. 

What a good little mommy!  We're delighted that Nicole has so much fun taking care of her baby.  We even surprised her with a whole package of real premie diapers, to use whenever she wants.  (That is, when she's not busy chasing her brothers and playing with Legos.)   Nicole's baby can say lots of phrases, and Nicole loves it when she says, "I love you, Mommy."   Somehow that makes all her hard work worthwhile.
