Pre-Halloween Fun

Happy Halloween!  We have some fun pre-Halloween pictures that I wanted to share, since we will have a bunch more tonight after trick-or-treating.

Yes, this is the display case at the school. Yes, I'm doing it again this year even though I said I wasn't going to.  The shelves are fixed now so that's my excuse for letting them talk me into it again.

Plus, it's fun.

I made most of the stuff just for the display. Here's a close-up of the haunted house:

It's made entirely of cardstock. And glue of course. I cut the shapes out with my Cricut - it took 16 sheets of cardstock and I-won't-say-how-many hours. It was so much fun that I'm never doing it again.

 Another angle.

Nicole has such beautiful fangs! She likes to surprise us with them. The best was when it was time to brush her teeth. She opened her mouth for me to help and there they were. Freaky! She's been doing this all month so maybe today is the last day?

Ben's dad visited us from Vermont for a few days and we had a great time. He got to share in some of the Halloween fun, so he has a few cameo appearances that make it even better.

At the pumpkin patch, the kids each got to pick their own pumpkin. Jonathan chose the biggest he could carry.

We went for a wagon ride to gather the pumpkins.  It was really cold and rainy, but worth it.  (I think?)

Zach loved the huge pumpkins that we couldn't lift.  We want to try growing a really big one in our garden next year.  (This season we grew nice, average-sized pumpkins so our trip to the pumpkin patch was mostly just for fun.)

I like this picture of Josh and Grandpa. There were a few teeth marks in Josh's little pumpkin when we got it home.

The kids found all sorts of interesting things in the corn maze.  Yum.

Time to carve those pumpkins.  (Nicole's pumpkin actually came from our garden. Pretty huh!)

Each of the kids drew a face on their pumpkin.  Greg did it all by himself this year.

I had the honor of trying to carve that.

Jonathan got to use a knife this year to cut his own.  He did really well - other than the time when he cut his hand and started bleeding. Um.

Here they are!  The perfect jack-o-lanterns.
We don't get very many trick-or-treaters at our house so this is the most publicity they're going to get.

What scary faces!  We're ready for Halloween. Are you?

Yea that you are doing the display. I kept thinking last week (or two weeks ago?) that I needed to tell you to do it again. Just use what you did last year. It was awesome and no one will care! That turned out great though. Wish I would have noticed it in person. I think I was running from one end of the hall to the other to the other school much too fast. I love the house though. Save it and use it next year!!!! Then it's worth all your time.

You need to move back. That's final. You and I would be the most amazing crafting team ever. I need to be inspired and encouraged by you!
