The same old morning routine. I went down to wake up Jonathan for school and this is what I found at the boys' bedroom door:
I chuckled. Funny boys!
Jonathan was only half awake but asked "What is that? Hey, when did Zach open the cards he got for Christmas?" (They were still in the plastic the night before.)
Cue the eerie music.
I assumed the boys had played with them the night before while Ben and I were watching a movie. But Jonathan reminded me that they were asleep before it was over. And I checked on the kids right before bed - no cards out. Okay, then Zach must have woke up after that to play with them.
Awhile later I was upstairs and heard Zach, barely waking up, say "Hey! Who opened my cards?!?" He was furious. Zach doesn't get mad often, but he was is very protective of his plastic-wrapped cards. He started crying.
He wasn't the one who opened them?
Zach blamed Jonathan. I told him it wasn't Jonathan. Zach blamed Nicole. I pointed out that she was still asleep, locked behind her safety gate. He looked at me suspiciously.
"No Zach, it wasn't Daddy or me."
"Well then who opened my cards?!? And why are they all out in a line?"

I've heard fairies can be pretty sneaky with that kind of stuff.
And we wonder why my girls are scared of sleeping downstairs! Look what happens in the night!
I love it! That would creep the Wakley house out for good. I wonder if you have a sleep-walker.
My mom said that when the kids were playing at her house, Zach made a similar pattern through the doorway with pillows. I guess that's his trademark - the conclusive evidence. Maybe he was doing it in his sleep? That's even kinda creepy to think about.
This turned out to be a Scooby Doo ending.
maybe you have a sleep walker? although I I do like the fairy theory. I just looked bckc through a ton of your posts. You have to be one of the most fun and creative moms EVER I can't believe that cake you made. AMAZING! your family pic is cute. I can not believe how big your kids are getting.
