While We Were Away

Here's what the kids got to do while we were on our cruise.  Do they look like they missed us? Jonathan told me that EVERY night they got to sit in the hot tub before baths. Grandma's house is so much fun! 

I'm very grateful to my parents for taking care of our kids.  With all the driving and flights included, we were gone for 9 full days! That's a lot of times in and out of the carseats, a lot of homework, a lot of food, a lot of diapers, and a lot of patience!   Oh and the teething...  Greg was miserable for a couple days and cut his first molars. Poor baby and poor Grandma!

Greg also learned to walk that week.  Yes.  We missed his first steps. This is his way of getting even with us.  We knew he was really close. My mom said that he took his first four steps as we were driving away.  Fine, little man, you showed us!  I'm sure Grandma gave him a lot of coaching throughout the week. I'm sad I missed those first days of walking, but he's still in the off-balance mode. He looks like a little zombie - walking around with his arms out.  Way to go Greg, you're a walker!

Here's a very short video clip of Greg walking.  We took this at our house when we got back. I LOVE watching babies take their first steps. They get so excited. Greg is getting good at it and he still catches me off guard sometimes. I expect him to follow me by crawling but instead he stands up and walks!

We brought back souvenirs for the kids, to bribe them into loving us again.   I love this picture because all the kids are blowing into their flutes - including Greg who doesn't have one!

Thanks again to my parents, for watching our kids for soooo long. They loved being there and it's fun to see all the quirky little things they picked up on during the week. We had a great trip and it was wonderful to come home and see our little kiddos again!
