Nicole's birthday was on Wednesday. Happy Birthday! Where did this year go? Have I mentioned that she doesn't have teeth and doesn't crawl? I don't mind, but she is still too much of my baby to be a year old! She has been a dream this first year. Please let it continue.
I love first birthdays because we let our kids make a mess with their cake. Nicole was happy and I managed to narrow our millions of pictures down to just enough for a slideshow. Enjoy!

Sure was, unless you count the sugar in formula and baby food. =o)
Aren't I a mean mom? My poor, deprived 1-year-old. But it makes the cake tradition all the more fun! And our boys LOVE veggies etc - I claim this as the reason.
But now bring on the treats! We have one after every meal...

My sister waited until the first birthday for her first child's first taste of sugar (that's a lot of "first" in that sentence). All grandparents involved thought that was barely short of abusive. Seriously.
I, personally, think it's a great idea and supported her wholeheartedly. It's not like one has to train a child real hard to "acquire" a taste for sugar. Why the hurry to start them out so young?

No teeth or crawing? between the biting and chasing brodey around and taking stuff out of his mouth i am wishing for that right about now. And as for the sugar thing... I caught my dear hubbby giving my 7 mo. old MOUNTAIN DEW from a straw!!! how is THAT for abuse. I was not happy.
